I suggest you try the soft approach first and let him know that you have the facts, ie. gearbox oil pump should be covered under warranty. At worst maybe negotiate for a compromise in the price? You may want to let him know you are willing to take this to authorities if this is not settled amicably. Bring a friend if you feel your nego skills are not up to the task.Bottom line is if the dispute gets out of hand, you might end up having to tow your car to another workshop to replace the part yourself and paying RM1K++.
