Need advice on squeaky sound

My E60 steering wheel when goes up and down makes a squeaky sound (start and off engine), as if its like too tight to move. Can it be rectified easily? Thanks.

I have the same problem before and I manage to solve the problem by changing the Power Steering Fluid and the problem resolved.

i had the same prob too...the active steering makes such a irritating sound when it goes up and down

M Speed @ USJ says they can try lubricate the steering mechanisms (not sure what is called), Ah Meng (M Speed USJ) says got to take out quite a few things to reach and lubricate. I also realised that when its colder environment (like early mornings, driving for a while with cold air cond), the sound of the steering (going up or down) when on / off engine is much quieter, as compared to during hot afternoons or parked under the Sun. IF anyone had solved it, share with us. Thanks.

I'll try changing the Power Steering Fluid. Perhaps from Japan is of different temperature fluids.
