N47 recall ?

Folks,

Anyone out there received this ? I found the following service information dated on 15 Jan 2015.

It is suggesting to replace chain tensioner and posibility timing chain for N47 diesel engine.

For me, I called up Ingress Auto. Initially they said my car is in the recall list. After sending my car in, they later retract that my car is not in the list. They make a mistake there.

Not very convience about their explaination as I gave them my chasis number as how they can make such mistake by checking on the system online.

Anyone has received and get recall done on their car for this timing chain issue ?

Don't think it is affecting F1x. It is affecting on E6x, E9x and E8x.

You need to send in your car to service/dealer, they need your key to verify the recall list. If your car is effected then they will prompt out from the screen if no prompt out then no recall for your car, you can request for the SA to print out the confirmation for future reference next time when sell car can proof to buyer this car do not have this problem. My car is not effected .

I didn't get notification but when I sent in my car with complaint of noisy engine, was informed that my timing chain needed to be changed. Elongated apparently.

Week long job.

Do you mind which dealer you went and you car year of made ? Still under warranty ?

confirmed. Not affecting F-series.

Made end 2011. Under warranty.
