If all cars are perfect, as in 100% efficient, all the spare part shops have to ta pao already :D it's part of the tear and wear of the cars. But BMW has built its brand over the years... long before Proton rolled out its Proton Saga in the early 80s. I gotta admit that I don't like how our govt still protect the local car industry by imposing high duty on imported cars, be it Japanese, Continental or US... and I don't think that Proton can survive any time should our govt lift its protection and leave Proton to survive on their own. One clear evidence happened sometime in the early 2000 or before that (not too sure). That time Kia introduced Sephia at only RM40++k!!! The sales were so good that Proton's sales were going downhill... then our govt intervened and somehow the Sephia's price shot up to RM60++k... my cousin managed to buy one Sephia before the price went up... whose fault was that??? By protecting Proton, all of us who love the new X6 can't afford to buy one because of its sub 700k asking price. It cost less than RM250k in the US... lesser than the RM290k I paid for my E60 last year! My opinion??? Please cut down the red tapes among the mgt in Proton and everything should be fine. BMW is a good brand... with good quality cars! but not all cars are made to be that efficient... like I said, there are bound to be lemons inside. same goes to Proton or even Perodua... I don't know why this Myvi vs. BMW thread can lead up to this point :D :stupid:
