mini challenge

I heard a mini challenge was organised awhile ago. Any idea who it was organised by and when and where it was held? Also when the next one will be? Is it similiar to the John Cooper Challenge organised in Europe? How do I get more information about it? Thanks...

This past weekend I had a little mini challenge myself.

And needless to say, my efforts to out run a mini cooper S was futile.
Well, let me let you in on the senario.
me: E30 323i (stock)
challenger: mini cooper S (stock)

We had several 3rd gear pulls. Both of us cruising at the same speed and then we gun it. Within 5 seconds the mini has already gained 3 to 4 car lengths.

On fourth gear it took a little less time for the mini get up to speed and pass me with ease.

Then I had another challenger doing 3rd gear pulls. This time it was a JCW Cooper S. And needless to say, it owned me. It pulled harder than the stock cooper S but not by a whole lot.

I think I'm going to have to bring out my other ride for more highway runs.
