I am thinking of getting a set of components speakers for my ride. Just wan to see what do u guys think about the Mb Quart Reference and the Alpine Type-X. I am thinking of getting the Mb Quart components though. What are the advantage and disadvantage of a 6x9 component and a 6.5 component?

The MBQs are lovely reference spkrs and I have been using them
before in separate component form; tweetrs & midwoofs. Try individual
amps for each to achieve awesome sound staging!
For extra low freqs get a dedicated enclosed sub and tune the cut0ff
points carefully for enjoysome allround audio performance.
Happy Earing!

I am just thinking if or not i should replace the rear speakers back to a 6x9 since some dude punch a hole to fit the 6x9 in. If the 6.5 is better then i might have the hole redone to fit the 6.5 components. I am planing to have a sub fitted. Maybe a JL audio sub.

Does anyone know what is the price for the Mb Quart reference 6.5 component?

if me i would reco "DLS" system if budget persist, esp the three way system in the front and a 12' woofer. till finish i spent around 9k but the result simply too good. check around before deciding. Cheers!!!!!!!!!

M30..

as for the rear.. go with a 6x9 as for the rear fills.. dun put too much effort in the rear.. keep some holes for the 12" woofer in the boot..as for the front keep it 6.5 components if space allows it..

I will be installing the 6.5 components on the front, but i am just thinking if i should knock and weld back the rear so i can fit 6.5 in there coz i think it was originally design for 6.5 but some ass made it bigger to fit a 6x9. i will surely be adding sub. Why not to put so much effort at the rear? alot of ppl have been telling me that but dun seem to get it.

Car Audio works in a unique way as space is small and also location of where we are in the car.

If you own and driven by your staff in 5 or 7 series and spend 90% of your time at the rear then, you should put lots of efforts to the rear.

When you at the driver seat most of the time, then you need to focus on your front speakers. Setup is most important as a good speakers can produce cheap quality sound if installation is wrong. What we want is to have HIFI audio range.

My suggestions are;

Front
- 6.5" Mid Bass with Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS
- 4" Mid RMS 80watts (Normally a component set - Alpine SPX-107R)
- Power it with Alpine MRP-F450 (2 chn to MB and 2 chn to SPX-107R)

Rear
- 6.5" MB Quart EKA 116
- 10" Sub MTX MXS1004
- MTX TA4252 - to power your EKA
- MTX TA7402 - to power your MXS104

You also need two crossover
Soundstream MTUBE-8

On budget..
Get the followings

Front
MB Quart RCE-213
Clarion SRV303 - Place under your front passenger seat

Rear
MB Quart DSF 216

Hope it help...

More SIFU out there... I am not a SIFU just on the same project as yours

Thanks man...What i am planing for now will be a MB Quart RVF 216 in the front and a Alpine 6x9 for the rear till i decide if i would like to stick to the 6x9 and upgrade or fix the rear to fit a 6.5. Plan to get a Alpine PDX 4ch amp. Then save up for the subs after that and a sub amp.

I got 2 sets of Morel 5" components to sell. Took it of my 5. interested can contact me. Dun ask model cause i cant remember. Remember paying like 4k or so for both front n back. Wanna let go cheap.
