The Polo a good car. Driving it feels like driving a big car. Very quiet and stable. Car of The Year some more. At 108K, it is difficult to go wrong. This is the best part -5 years warranty some more (unlimited mileage). I am sure your wife don't want extra headache when she commutes daily to work. Just remember one thing, do not test drive the GTi. To give yourself a fair chance go out and test drive the Fiesta. It is also a good car. According to Ford, this is their first global car. The 1.6 Fiesta feels very nimble and ever willing when pushed. I like the voice command thingy. Handling is superb. 0-100 is the same as Polo, just under 10 seconds. Top speed also same as Polo at 190km/hr. Fuel consumption - Polo wins. Technology wise - Polo wins. Driving dynamics - Fiesta wins. Refinement - Polo wins. Resale value - expect both to be horrible. Price wise - Fiesta wins at RM82K, together with 3 years warranty + 3 years free service. However, interest rate as per current interest rate. Waiting period for the white and blue Fiesta is 3 months. Other colours - 1 month. Mind you, the Fiesta is the cheapest '6 speed DSG' in town (they term it as powershift). Polo has 7 speed DSG dry clutch. If the rear seat occupants' comfort level is important, I don't recommend the Polo. Fiesta wins in this department. Both also CBU cars. Polo from South Africa, Fiesta from Thailand. Ladies would normally fall in love with Fiesta's sexy looks. Guys would go for the Polo.
