Had this rough idling problem when engine is cold. Usually happens when the car has not been started for 2~3 days. Its fine when it is warmed up. The mechanic said that its due to the plug coils - there are some whitish marks on the coil body of all 6 coils. Gonna cost around RM180 each to replace. Has anyone encountered this problem before and how soon do you need to replace once you have this problem?

Yup .... it's not the coil ...
U hv to change to MAF

I think mine is MAF. I suspect its the fuel pump. Anyone has any other ideas on what the problem could be?

i think you should take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion rather than fork out more than 1k & have the problem repeat itsef.
i replaced my coils because a few of them were crack. but my problem wasn't like yours. no rough idling at all..

Yup, I should go to another workshop to get another diagnosis - still not quite convinced its the coils. Thanks Fuhrer.
