Most parts for engine, suspension and other mechanical stuff should still be relatively easy to get. However, the main problem is that the mainstream parts suppliers like Bavarian Autoparts and maybe Stuttgart tend to look down on the older bimmer owners and no longer carry nor intend to support us. Their excuse is that they need the space for the newer car parts, first its the e21 parts, soon it will be the e30 and next the e36. Proly its because the margin on the parts are significantly lower. Have not tried Auto Bavaria or BMW Malaysia. Smaller parts suppliers do carry older bimmer parts - mostly old stocks. Some may be willing to order for you. Interior parts are near impossible to find in our local shops - For this, u need to trawl ebay, in the US and the UK. I just bought the centre control panel (new) with the a pair of air cond grilles for EUR35 including postage. Also bought a FOHA rear spoiler last year for about GBP40 and a new speedometer (just the meter) for GBP40 - had to get my brother to bring back from London tho. My main suppliers are: CSS Auto Bomin First Division They are all located on Jalan Ipoh KL. If all else fails http://www.wallothnesch.com Am told their postage rates are fair. Don't be too discouraged by Kevster. Where there is the will, there is a way.
