Hey Guys, i was just hoping if you guys could appoint me to a decent workshop for my E36 here in KL, im a proud owner of a E36 318 1998 model. since it was my mums car she's always maintained it at Autobavaria. the cars alil high on the milage as its done 256 000 kms. as you can see the car has had its fair share of travelling and now ,it being a 10 year old car i bare all the wear and tear and its become really costly to maintain it, but i was told by someone that autobavaria is a "cutthroat" so i was hoping if you guys could appoint me to a more cost effictive workshop but yet a good mechanic. (i been hearing bout this mechanic in taman mayang, just been wondering who it is but cant get in contact with him, is he anygood)if its againts the rules to post the name of the workshop could uz please pm me the name and address of the workshops please.

From personal experience, no. That is, if you are referring to mpower workshop.

Do a search on the forum, and judge for yourself.

Bro,

I send my e36 318 (and my MB300E too) to Bomin Auto at Jln Ipoh (opposite Kompleks Mutiara) for the last 3 years. They specialise in BMW and MB. Bomin is also a dealer for BMW parts and their parts shop is next to the workshop. So far happy with their service. You can contact John Lai at 012 3059926. You can ask for a quotation first before deciding to go for the repair.

complicated ---yehhh .... anyway i think AB is a good place and based on what you've stated that the car has been faithfull to you till such a high milage of 260K by the hands of AB ---all i have to say is stay to it.....

interms of high cost to maintain --well that's subjective..all depends of how thick you wallet it , how sensitive your driving style it and many more ..

not to say that the outside mech are good , but then there are lotsa sharp swords there too ...

I think it's better for you to know your car personally rather than reallying it much to maintainance factor and foremans out there ...

chill dude

Auto Bavaria is an authorised service centre. Its prices are controlled and the same across all the other service centres like Sapura Auto and the upcoming Ingress Auto.

The choice is yours whether to stick to Auto Bavaria or any authorised service center. There are of course the alternative BMW 'specialists' out there. Check the relevant threads and you should be able to find something.
