Richard is the Boss of Titans. Check here : http://titanshocks.com/ Basically BOGE E38 front shocks cost around RM650 each. I find them to be a bit on the soft side. While Titans customised ones are also around that price. It's a bonus for E38 owners as the price is equivalent to standard OEM replacement. While for example E36, E34 or other models, the OEM prices are much cheaper. Why Titans? They are able to set/tune the ride to your needs i.e. your preference for comfort or performance or a balance. They are serviceable. During initial installation, they would allow you to test/trial until you have achieved your desired needs. All this at no extra cost. But it may be a bit time consuming though. After sales service is good. They have been around for a while and their customer base has been ever growing. Richard is very accomodating and he likes to share his knowledge on suspension with his customers. Simply put, he has time for his customers. As to the steering centre rod, I also recently replaced mind too. The weight of the E38 tend to have quite a bit of stress on the ball joints on the centre rods. I have seen quite a few E38's needing this replacement. Signs of a bad centre rod is clunk sound when turing your steering or bumping over uneven surfaces. Another way to test is to hoist up the car and shake the ball joint area to see any free play. I found that prices varies at different part shop. I have heard of RM800 and a low of RM600+ Albert has recently replaced this centre rod for 4 E38's already and it really makes a difference. Not a difficult job but you will need to perform wheel alignment after that. Good thing is Albert will get the alignment done for the customer. So less hassle for us.
