Having had two E36 328i this E38 although share the same engine don't have the same punch as the E36. Nonetheless she does the job well and the gearbox is very smooth.  Sound proofing is very impressive too. Built quality is very high and I would expect so as these car cost around RM500K when new. They are all CBU cars. I do agree that replacement parts are a little on the high side, but I was told by my regular parts distributor that the E38 especially 728i hardly gives any trouble. In fact he was saying that the E39 had more problems than the E38. Don't know how true is this statement.</blockquote>
