Colleagues in the know, pls help me. I developed a massive steering vibration yesterday whilst driving. It comes under heavy braking, generally between 70 - 90 kmh. Survey over forums suggest 2 possible causes if balancing in order, ie rotors warped or fcab. Looked at Turners, here are options;1. Stop tech or BMW OE rotors and axis or metal master pads? About $550. Pls tell me those who have replaced rotors and pads without changing to BBK, what were your options and what was done pls? Costs as well always helps. Tqhttp://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-E46-M3/c-2-bmw-brakes.aspxOr cross drilled and slotted as below? What were ori specs?http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-12033-cross-drilled-slotted-brake-rotors-front-e46-m3-pair.aspx2. Stop tech SS brake lines. Are they worth it? I read somewhere BF Goodrich lines were used. Pls give me comments and views pls. These lines are standard on all 46 and the M3 does not use different ones? Tqhttp://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-175-e46-stainless-steel-brake-line-set-dot-approved.aspx3. Fcab options below;http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2105-front-control-arm-bushings-fcab-urethane-street-e46-m3.aspxOr thishttp://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3522-front-control-arm-bushings-fcab-delrin-solid-race-e46-m3.aspxAll advise and thoughts always appreciated. Thanks - S

Hello boss, was a little bored last nite....so hit the roads!! Hahaha

Valid points, and will be sending for check up. But my gutt inspect tells me the calipers are fine as there is no pulsating feel, no violent steering movements to one side, brake dust is also even. Rotors look worn and tired to my naked eye. Bushes on per purchase inspection looked fine....but like the culprit.

Tq for the input though bro

Alrighty. If it's the rotors, you won't go wrong with original replacements la.. There's just too much to demystify when it comes to aftermarkets.

Nobody have views? Really sad if there is no spirit of sharing. There are folks here u have owned their cars for yonks....BMWCM will be a sad place if technical discussions and sharing of xperiences are not made.....

Tq bro Mizhan though for your views

Thanks anywayz

My friend, sometimes I wonder why. Calling means all repository is gone.......

I often wonder what in the world happened to putting emotions, antics, politics, affiliation aside....and share our common passion for the benefit of all?

I get more hits and info from M3.net then BMWCM. This forum seems to have become more in tune with complaining bout BMW service and interest of club guest, chapters, camp building, etc etc etc.

No wonder I have remained silent for yonks, need to go back in hibernation la

Dunno why I never learn yet

///M Singh,

R u sure u didnt drop the vibrator somewhere under the dashboard. It might cause serious vibration to the driver

Well, if you're longing for days when people like pussy, fabian, jarance etc. volunteered their technical wisdom without fear or favour, you are not alone. I myself stopped posting for a while until i haven't had much to do since this year started.

There is a severe shortage of technical discussions on this forum for a couple of years now. Sad huh? As much as i'd love to help you bro, i can only offer to buy you a drink. We both know i'm not as technically savvy as those sifu's :(

1. The disc in your link is non-floating. Our cars come stock with floating rotors so I am more inclined to get original ones. A good upgrade without changing to a BBK is the bigger CSL rotors (Needs a CSL bracket for the caliper) Considering changing to those if I cant find a BBK within my price range
Have not changed brake pads on my car yet but there is plenty of info on other forums.

2. I am using Goodridge SS Brake Lines, good pedal feel and no spongy feeling.
Not sure whether the M3 uses the same lines as the non-M.

3. Solid delrin bushings will definitely increase noise, vibration & harshness. Urethane bushings are also harder than stock but not as hard as solid delrin bushings. You will see some increase in NVH.

Before my BBK set up, I have changed a set of new rotors & pads when I found that my front right rotor is warp.

Damage was approx RM2K for a new pair of original rotors & RM600 for pads.

Then I was using BF Goodridge brake hose. Apparently, the come as standard when I got my BBKs.

I got new front struts mounts & FCABs from Stuttgart for RM1420.00.

Hope this helps mate.

Bro Maxxsp and NKTOB, terima kasih! This is helpful.

Yesterday attempted balancing wheels and found 2 rims bent and wobbling, out of allignment. This could be a serious contributor to the wobble and steering feel. Will need to address this asap......before embarking on other changes

You still on 18" bro? BBK might necessitate 19". Go look for a set of sexy CSL rims bro :top:

hai, phai ,if u want to change to bbk,it will b good, dont wori no regards,u can can call ks koo 0132965890,lots of bmws f10,x5 all do conversion fro him ,go n have a look tq,dont have 2 change to 19
