idrive display "OFF"

I find it cumbersome to have to switch the I Drive display OFF everytime I start the car for a drive.

Anyone knows how to default the I drive display to come on only when prompted?

And yes I have programmed the steering wheel button as an ON/OFF button for the display.

I think TS wants to save his iDrive screen. Maybe BMW should invent screen saver in iDrive.

yup....as splee stated....

if drive at night I prefer not to have the display illuminated...dark cockpit concept...though we can set it to minimum.....but still...
