So I saw some members are using the tool, think I will share some info.

LCM Options:

To enable or disable the annoying DRL:
-select “coding data”
-toggle the options for “running lights”

ZKE Options:
To do any of the functions in the ZKE section:
- select “Coding data”

To activate the alarm optics without having a physical alarm:
-check DWA
-check the options with “optics”
Note: If you have bits and pieces of the OEM alarm, you may enable those options

To activate an OEM alarm:
-check DWA
-check DWA interior sensor
-uncheck DWA interior sensor, rear (unless you have a convertible which has a front and rear interior sensor)
-check DWA tilt alarm sensor
-check the options with “optics” and “acoustics”

Note: you must have all 3 (4 for convertibles) pieces to the alarm otherwise your car will throw a code. e.g. you have the siren and motion sensor but no tilt; your DWA will show a fault and will not arm. Siren will still go off if doors are breached.

To enable remote closing windows:
-default “Opening (remote control)” is checked and “Locking (remote control)” is unchecked
-check “Locking (remote control)” to enable closing with remote
Note: the lock button closes and unlock opens the windows upon holding of the key

To enable one click to unlock all doors:
-default “Selective” is checked. This allows one click of the unlock button of the remote to unlock the driver’s door. A second click unlocks remainder passenger doors
-check “No” to unlock all doors with one press of the unlock button

To change the tilt of the passenger mirror when in reverse:
-default “Memory” is unchecked
-set mirror switch to passenger, the mirror will tilt to your personal position.
- Set your position, have switch on passenger side, and adjust your mirror while in reverse gear.
Note: if ”Memory” is checked mirror switch must be set to passenger for option to work.
Switching to driver will disable the auto-tilt.
Note: if ”Memory” is unchecked mirror switch must be set to driver for tilt to work (by default it tilts to the maximum amount). Switching to passenger will disable the auto-tilt.

EWS Options:
To check the number of keys you have used:
-select key status
-you may also disable keys if you lost them from this menu as well
Note as you can see, I have two keys out there in the world from the previous owner as I only own two of them

To view live data:
-select live data

To DISABLE the clutch switch:
-select “Coding data”
-select “Settings and manufacture settings”
-select Manual transmission
Note: only for manuals
Note: this allows you to start the car without having to depress the clutch

SRSOptions:
To view live data about your airbags:
-select live data

To DISABLE seat occupancy sensor:
-select “coding data”
-select “Equipment”
-uncheck “Seat occupancy recognition”
Note: I have not tired this as I do not need to nor have I installed aftermarket bucket seats

To DISABLE seat belt light:
-select “coding data”
-select “Equipment”
-uncheck “Seat-belt buckle switch”
Note: I haven’t tried this myself as I always wear a seat-belt nor have a race harness

IKE Options:
In the IKE menu you can change items such as service intervals frequency (i.e. km/mi until next service), etc

Got my scanner from here, installed on windows 7 64bit, had it for 2 years, used many times. It works just fine.

Anywhere anyone knows a good reliable place to get the OBD2 cable? I know for different models have different cables so I would like to get a cable specifically for the E90 LCI 2010+ models

I think you will need bmw icom or icome a2 because this scanner doesn't work well with bmw 2006+.

Since some members asked me how to install it on win7...I found this tutorial:

"Go ahead and install the BMW scanner software. After you're done, plug the scanner into your OBD2 port, without having it plugged into your computer. Wait like 5 seconds (not 100% you even need to wait the 5 sec). Then, plug it in. Your computer will try several things. It'll attempt to find the driver and succeed, or not. It does not matter.

Go to http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm and scroll down to the box with listing of drivers of different operating systems. Since we are doing windows, I am only covering that. The 1st row shows windows. All the way at the right hand side, under comments, you will see "setup executable". You can download the drivers themselves but this thing does it all for you. It is much easier. Install it once downloaded. A black DOS like window pops up and installs it. The box usually disappears in like 5 seconds.

Once done, go to control panel, then device manager and right click on BMW scanner (usually under other devices) to select update driver software.

Select the option "Browse my computer for driver software". Then pick let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Select towards the bottom "Universal serial bus controllers. Look for FTDI on the next screen, on the left hand side under manufacturer. When you click on it, to the right, select USB Serial Converter. Then click next. A message will pop up saying armageddon will reign down upon you and your computer if you install this and it isn't compatible. I decided to go for it and take the risk. Once installed, open up your BMW scanner software and start messing with all your options.

I have tried this on windows 7home premium 64 bit, as well as windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. It worked for me, it might work for you. Have fun!"

This is not my work. It is from facebook.

Great sharing Kim1980.
May I know if want to activate signal light blinking during remote lock & unlock car, is it setting inside ZKE->DWA ?

Can you help to code the unused button on the steering wheel (like telephone button) to change the Radio Mode selection. Right now my MF steering can only change the radio station and CD playlist. I want the change from CD to Tape to Radio by using the spare button on the MF steering.

Yes.

saw this software PA Soft v1.4 running on PC laptop of a fellow forumer here.
Does the software come in Apple OSX version? both software program and drivers
Plan to get the scanner hardware and hook it up to my MacBook Air.
Yes, apple OSX can dual boot to Windows, but prefer not to go that route.
