How to DIY install alarm set to E46

<blockquote data-quote="Rick Wong" data-source="post: 33863" data-attributes="member: 33656"><p>In this post i would like to install an alarm set not an OEM set, for car getting old, i can say that some OEM item we can't really afford it, in this DIY I spend RM65 for the set[ATTACH]29924[/ATTACH]this is an alarm set [ATTACH]29925[/ATTACH]take out the glove box[ATTACH]29926[/ATTACH]the GMV module located at back of glove box[ATTACH]29927[/ATTACH]this is GMV module[ATTACH]29928[/ATTACH]socket side of GMV, this is control for centre locking, power window, keyless entry, etc, i target the 54 pin socket in the centre[ATTACH]29931[/ATTACH]from 54 pin wire set, look for this three wire, blue/red (lock), white/black (unlock), red/blue (door switch), there is only one wire on that colour no same colour wire in that socket anymore[ATTACH]29932[/ATTACH]cut the wire skin (don't cut the wire) test with multi meter make sure not a live wire & connect the alarm set white wire to white/black, brown wire to blue/red[ATTACH]29933[/ATTACH][ATTACH]29934[/ATTACH]connect power supply wire from alarm set to corner of GMV that is a live wire & black wire to earth for temporary[ATTACH]29935[/ATTACH][ATTACH]29936[/ATTACH]now it should can trigger lock/unlock function with remote unit[ATTACH]29939[/ATTACH]use soldering to make sure all wire said the above not loosen & wire tape it properly[ATTACH]29937[/ATTACH]due to time constrain, i only manage to connect fire wire for the set, the rest of connection like siren, indicator light, key switch, etc... i will upload again see how respond from our club member, no point if no body interested in it.</p></blockquote><p></p>
