Ello everyone.how rude of me for not introducing myself. I guess I was just so caught up with having the thought of maybe owning a Bmer that I just dived into the forums.anyway, I'm Daniel and I'm actually looking at the possibility of selling of my 2004 (nov) Waja and maybe get 2 2nd hand cars; 1 for me and the other for my wife. I've all along been very attracted to the BMW range of cars but due to their high price tags, I've always shied away from the possibility of even getting into one. but since my wife now needs a car for herself, I started to look into all kinds of possibilities and came across some interesting 10+ year old models like the e34 (i really like this one....so garang looking) and decided to find out more. that's why I'm here.So, looking forward to learn much from all you 'veteran' BMW owners and hopefully I can be one proud owner soon too.Cheers.Danboy

E34 is a good choice for that budget range.. If you are lucky and careful you will found a E34 that have lower maintainance then your waja but if luck is bad, it will kill your monthly budget.

Imagine, gearbox kong, powersteering kong, Vanos kong, ICV and injectors Kong.. longshafts, engine need top overhaul and etcs.. A lot of this wont show any sign of failure till it fail..

We are so worried about the gearbox and vanos/engine as the repairs can cost us RM10-20K

Anyway.. dont rush.. take your time and have fun searching ya..
