My car's previous owner took car of the car well but i think sent too often to "unprofessional" car wash centers. Result = swirl marks/scratches. I went to HB recently. As my car is only 2yrs old & paintwork still good, i didnt want to do the "sanding" process as it was deemed unnecessary by HB as well. So the surface preparation work was done using Meguiars' Diamond Cut. Removed most of the swirl marks but left with some fine scratches still visible at only certain acute angel & certain lighting condition at night (not visible during daylight). Then they did the MG Dual Action Polish, followed by MG NXT Tech Wax. Very nice! In fact, i bought a bottle of MG's NXT Tech Wax .... after a car wash, i will apply a layer of tech wax on the engine bonnet .... then next car wash, the boot cover ...then next car wash, the roof. Section by section to maintain shine. Flat sections stain easily e.g. engine bonnet ...i think the flat surface collect dirt when car parked + heat of engine after running. Easy DIY. I use only microfiber cloth to wash the car. Sponges are BAD, only use on the rims. In fact, i am going to buy the MG's car wash mitt (with glove so no soap on hands!) and the MG's ultimate car wipe.
