As per forum protocol, here is the requisite introduction:What do you drive: 2010 F02 730Li, Indented 2012 F13 640i M-sport kit to be added to garage. Hi there Eggie86 and all the other bros!

Thank you for your comments. Yes, as a matter of fact, I placed the order for the F13 640i M-sport coupe on the day of the launch itself (here in Singapore, Performance Motors launched the F13 last Friday, 21st October).

I also requested for quite a lot of additional options to be factory-fitted (not to mention deleting the redundant glass sunroof - no offense to the bros who like the feel of UV light roasting their scalps, but I've always felt silly having a sunroof in an equatorial climate country such as Singapore or Malaysia: a bit Angmoh try-hard wannabe? Hehe).

As a result, the car will be indented and the estimated delivery date was told to me to be sometime after February next year. The timing worked out to be perfect for me, as we are usually away from the country at the end of the year and over Chinese New Year anyway.

Yesterday, being Deepavali and a public holiday, wife and I headed over to Performance Motors to lock in the final details of the F13. I've taken the liberty of sharing my excitement with the bros here on the forum by posting up the main specifications and options of the car:

Vehicle make/model: BMW 2012 F13 640i M-sport coupe

Color: M-sport exclusive Carbon Black Metallic

Specifications: 1735kg, Twinpower turbo 2979cc inline 6 cylinders N55 engine with 320hp & max 450Nm torque available from 1300 - 4500 rpm & 0-100km/h time quoted as 5.4s, top speed capped at 250km/h

Notable options:
- Adaptive Drive (Dynamic Damper Control + Dynamic Drive)
- Adaptive LED headlights (includes High-beam assistance and adaptive headlights functions) - this is the first BMW to have full LED DRL, low-beam & high-beam headlights!
- Automatic Start/Stop function
- BMW Head-Up Display in full colour
- BMW Individual High Gloss Shadowline to go with the M-sport package
- Comfort Access System
- Comfort Seats
- Internet Connection (basically I can google on the 10.2" TFT screen and read my emails etc through that!)
- Light alloy wheels 20" Double spoke M rims (373M) with mixed runflat tyres (but I'm definitely swapping these for standard Pirellis or Michelin tyres once the car comes)
- Navigation system Professional, with integrated harddisc for maps and audio data
- Park Assistant (self parallel parking)
- Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear
- Rear view camera
- Roller sun blind for rear window
- Soft-Close function for doors
- Sports automatic transmission Steptronic (8 speed) with paddle shifters
- Surround View

The hardest decision to make came down to the specific colour selections for the car. I didn't want another Sapphire Black like my present F02 which we will be keeping as the family car (wife says it's easier to do marketing with a 4-door saloon than a 2-door coupe, and who am I to argue? Haha). I also didn't want some of the lighter colours as I wanted my F13 to look a bit garang, so the silver family an the grey options were out. Deep Sea Blue was nice, but quite a common colour here in Singapore.

Carbon Black Metallic & Imola Red non-metallic were 2 unique and exclusive colours reserved only for the M-sport upgrade, so in the end, Carbon Black Metallic it was for the exterior colour.

The interior was slightly easier to decide. We really liked our present 2-toned F02 interior in Saddle Brown with Black footwells, so we chose the closest option available for the F13: Cinnamon Brown with Black footwells. The trimming was Fine-Brushed Aluminium, to go nicely with the Aluminium border of the 10.2" TFT.

Finally, I ordered the upgrade from the standard 19" M double spoke alloy wheels to the 20" rims to complete the sporty look. Now, all I have to do is wait patiently - will definitely keep the bros here updated!

Thanks for the warm welcome again!

Awesome write-up again bro. I suppose you're one of the first forummers to officially own the new 6 series. :adore:

Must be one great ride. :top:

Hi Eggie86. Thanks for the comments. I plan to write a review of my test drive of the F13 (in the 6 series section), and then, when I get my car next year, I'll write an in-depth experience of the drive!

That would be great! We're always eager to read up on reader's feedback on the rides. After all, nothing beats the actual reviews coming from those who use it on a daily basis, compared to those articles written after a short review period. :top:
