Hi All,I have a dilemma with starting up my car when its cold. Well, basically the idle is very low (below 500 rpms) and the tach moves as if its trying to find for a proper range. And most of the time, since the idle is so low, the engine dies. But I've been told by a forumer with the same car to check my Air Slide Valves. His comment was... and I quote:"When the car dies cold....check your ASV ( Air Slide Valve = for L Jetronic like yours n mine..how it looks likes? see below - the piece just between the throttle body and rubber elbow.........it takes hot water from engine to warm up some portion of intake air before the intake plenum...so four hoses goes in and out of this thingy......cost RM500 new, I think. Take out and check if it still works...by dipping into hot water....valve should open slowly.....if not, then it is stuffed and cannot be serviced )". :( So can anyone help me in this diagonose this situation? Any experience from the past.Of course if you come up with a solution to increase the idle this problem might dissapear. But this only makes the car idle higher after its warmed up. So I'll use this as a last resort. Thanks in advance.
