Hi,My advice is bring your UDM to Ultimate BMW at Batu Cave and ask them to perform leak test to ur cooling water system.I had done before and satisfied with the result and what are they done.Ask them to check ur water level/pressure sensor due to on off phenomenon.Further more to ur idling problem,u are not stated what type of engine u own,if M43TU engine I also aggreed with others try to check your idling valve.
