Found a 635CSI. What would be a fair price for it based on the findings below.Model year 1981Original condition and mechanicals.Working sunroof.Dogleg gearbox. (Some mechanical whine while coasting, disappears while acclerating, unsure of source, maybe not even gearbox.)Gearbox notchy, hard to go from 2nd to 1st. But synchros are ok. Is this the character of the dogleg?Hairline cracks on dashboard (Can be re-wrapped?)50sen hole in driver side footwell from rust.Some rust around passenger side footwell drain plug.Fan intruded into radiator but not leaking, yet.Great leather interior.Missing lever in a/c console.rubber seals between very good and fair.2pc BBS 16" rimsThanks to all who can help. Hi Slide, you got the dogleg gearbox? The engagement isn't positive on the one i tested, this is what I actually meant by notchy. Does yours display the same characteristics?

BTW, which KL/PJ workshop got experience with maintaing the E24? Tolong share. Tq.

yes car running. drove it. oh yeah, there's a tapping noise from the engine too. Tappets need adjustment? Mileagae about 100,000km.
 
you can try Kz Motorservice in Ara Damansara Just before the old Airport. Call Fahmi 0163904466. Just mention my name kaiza. He did my overhaul, and he did a fantastic job. Just tell him the problems you have with your car and he will help you.

His pricing is reasonable.
 
Well here is my ride, used to belong to another member, esterix.
Service all my bm's at M1. Yes, i too have a dog leg, it works fine, but 1st is sometimes a little hard to engage, i think it's just cause the damn gear level is too long... and u do have to push it all the way to the left and down too...
would like to show u my car.. but i don't know how to post pictures..... need to get a link?
 
well the m30 is known for tappet noise.. keep the engine well and she will purr down the hways!

well, my dogleg was stiff too, but found the lingkage bush worn off.. .after changing it, its ok now!...

well... wats the asking price??
 
40k. Still a bit on the high side for my pockets.

Plus body work, transfer, rd tax blabla and others probably budget another 5k.
 
road tax can be reduced to classic car status. as long as the car is in good original status. only have to pay 800 per year.
 
well there is one coming up for sale, good body,.. i think he is asking less than 30k!... forgot the color, i think its grey...i suppose to get the car but sumone else got to it first, so now its up for sale again by the new owner... all the brakes was a goner... the new owner replaced everything n car is running. will let you knw details later...

well mine imposible to get classic status la...

mine's being processed now. got the orignal steering wheel, gear knob, complete interior, rims, matching engine numbers etc... should have the answer soon. keeping my fingers crossed, don't want to pay 4k per year....
