headlight brightness

Bro's, my headlight seems to be a tad dim, its the post face lift xenon and I've compared it to a E60 and a E90, both seems to outshine the E39 xenon. Is this normal or is my ballast kaputzky?

Hi Bro, i am also having dull shine. Probably need to change to a better bulb/ballast.

Open your hood and hold the bulb socket and check is it is shaking. It's not your ballast. It is your headlight adjusters i am sure they are broken and your light are drooping down thats why it not bright.

Collect my vanos seal already bro, installed it earlier this week...letting it wear in now

Bimmer73, I've used cable ties to temporary prop up the beam and its still looking a tad dim. going to consider replacing the stock halogen spotlights with HID's.

Installed at Optimum Kayu Ara...took a couple of hours for the job. Changed a number of hoses in the process.

I'm on HIDs and the beam is brighter than the normal halogens but still not as bright, I think need to change the headlamps, the projector maybe degraded....The only way to try is if I cud get one side of new lamp to try it out...

do it your self, $110. that is d cost of new face lift adjuster, ask ppl to do, ranging from $300 to $500 i think.

Adjusters plus labor is RM500 per car. guarantee wont break if you hit pot hole. One headlamp is RM250

Bro, that's cheap. I paid RM600 at BM Wong, USJ1 Subang Jaya.

can u do that without removing the light cover? wow... I have replaced the adjuster of both headlamp, the 1st took me 4-5 hours labour, 2nd one took less than 1.5 hours.

yup. 1 head lamp 45 minutes

no point having HID if adjusters are broken
