Hi,I was told by a detailer shop that they can restore my scratch and a little cloudy headlamps to perfection. RM 400 and they will put the lamps in an oven to soften the rubber seals, open it all up, polish it inside out, and put it all back together again, with warranty against leaking. But the shop is the middle man. Anyone knows who is the real source? The person who actually does the work? Thanks!

I think we have discussed this before , check it out in the forum . BTW

From what i have observe .. for E46 the headlight cover piece is changeable , wherelse for E39 , you cant part out the lamp cover. Its quite diff to dismantled and potential of water ingress is very quite high. For E39 , you can polish the lamp cover in-situ , means without removing it . The sanding/polish will only remove minor scratches . stone chips and not a very deep one. The sanding/ polish got to sand down some thickness of you head lamp to achieve the clear condition . I did it below RM 200 at Kajang -satisfied.

BTW , i dnt know how hightech is the shop that you are talking about , But whenever there is a middle man ( most of the time not our fren ) the price tend to be steep tho...cheers

The facelifted e39 headlamps are not meant to be pried open cuz it's glued together. But with oven baking, you can do wonders. However, the pre-facelift e39 headlamps can be pried open. Just a couple of tabs holding itself tight together.
