Hi Bmw_lover.... Welcome to the club... I'm one of the E60 owners and I would say overall its a good car... took me 6 months searching before I got mine as I'm particularly anal about the body works and the functionality of the car.... 1. Decide if you'd prefer a recon or a local model (pre-owned) or second hand (private/premium selection)... 2. Normally, showroom condition cars or cars after service, you could barely hear the engine sound (that's based on my experience on the N52)... If it doesn't sound right, its never a good buy.... 3. Mine is a 523i and I'm already VERY happy with the power I'm getting... (atleast didn't get left behind in the monthly breakfast run...hehe :p) So, I would say that the 530 should be even better. 4. My high school friend used to be the service manager for AB Ipoh and I do seek him for his guru advises... His quotes : E60s are meant for the high roads (tekan all the way) E60s almost seldom have electronic failures and if they do it's easily rectifiable E60s oil changes should be every 8k and not the displayed 10k on the OBC ALL BMWs!!! Gear oil change should be done every 40k and not the stipulated 80k (Internal Memo from BMW) 5. As for mods, since I drive a N52 engine model, I've yet to find any, but am looking into the PB... Our brader thule is trying out something and will get back to us as soon as he gets some results. Well, that's all I can think of for now.... Goodluck in your search... Don't hesitate to PM, would love to assist a fellow BMW enthusiast. :)
