Hi sifu's, Today for the first time ever I felt what ppl call a heart stopping moment when I pulled up infront of Stuttgart to just purchase a bumper grill. My UDM couldn't reverse, when engage gearstick to R, it felt just like neutral. But I reversed the car out of my parking lot about 10 mins before that. Immediately called the mech frm Stuttgart w'shop to diagnose. When he plugged in the computer, no faults appeared. Even when I off and on the engine there were no codes that came out, even the gearbox fault indicator on dash did not light up. But my car felt perfectly fine on D. Shifts smooth and drives normally. So drove back home worried about the hole a gearbox transplant would burn in my pocket. But when I reached home, just to try my luck I engaged R, and she reversed perfectly in to my car park. Very very puzzling. Anyone else experienced these symptoms before? Btw I drive a 2003 AB 318i N42 2.0 valvetronic. Hoping for someone to she'd some light on the situation. I have had the car for more than 4 yrs, g/box flushed every 40k to 50k kms max, oil cooler replaced once at 80k kms, car mileage now 145k kms. Last flush was at 110k kms. Intended to do a flush next week. But now thinking if a flush would help or I need to change/overhaul g/box once and for all.
