Zayadi, Welcome to the forum. Now about your car. The E46 tranny generally has a lifespan of about 200k km. I have seen at least 4-5 trannys failed at that mileage, common problem is due to the oil pump failure and subsequently damaged the clutch pack and o rings, which then required a complete overhaul. A complete overhaul inclusive of torque converter rebuild will cost you around 8-9k, minus the torque converter should be about 6k. I would suggest you to bring your car to a competent mechanic that has a proper diagnostic machine like a GT-1. It will be able to read out the actual problem of your gearbox, it could be something small like a solenoid failure or a wiring issue (I doubt that though, since it's all wired into a socket) that triggered the trans-program fault code. There is a list of workshops that we go to listed in the forum, do a search and hope this helps. Cheers
