Well Traveller, maybe your friend was embelishing the story a bit and only one tyre was low on air. But if it happens that all 4 were low and had been for some time, you should advise him/her to change all 4 tyres. With RFTs you can't see underinflation visually and if driven for a period of time in that state, they would be at risk of ply separation and sidewall flex damage, the no 1 causes of blowouts. Damage starts from the inside of tyres and you can't see it on the outside.
