Hi y'all, Just changed my front absorbers recently. The right side spring mounting seat actually broke! It bent downwards, rubbed against the tyre and I was lucky the tyre didn't explode or anything (tyre was 6 mths old!:( )Anyway, the replacements are Bilsteins and I paid about RM435 each.My point is, whether psychological or otherwise, the ride doesn't feel silky smooth anymore with the new absorbers. D'you think it is more psycho than real? A bit sad, but I accept the fact that it is a 10 yo E39, after all...Cheerio mates

sorry '7833,

I tot with sports suspension, you'd sacrifice the ride for better handling, right? If that's the case, I prefer the original setting laa, coz I am happy with the ride and handling as is... orang lama laaa

some more, sports susp means lowering the car, which is no good as the road I drive is patchy at best and after heavy rains will be pot-holed ridden...

Besides, doesn't sports suspension (or sports 'anything' for that matter) almost always cost much more meh? I have a tight bgt to run on oso lerr.sigh!

sori laa, racun belum effective lagiiii...

happy driving y'all.

Well... are your absorbers original? There are actually re-badged or re-con shocks out there on the market posing as the real thing.

But you probably just need to have a full alignment done to get back that straight-line stability and steering confidence.
