Had the Beisan vanos seal changed. They also did some tuning as the engine setting was off. A lot of parts they have to dismantle before getting the vanos unit out. The old vanos seals were hardened up like plastic, no more elastic like rubber. Anyway, I also had my engine oil and ATF fluid changed. The result: WOW ... the engine felt so light at low RPM. At idle at traffic light, it was so quiet and smooth that one could be fooled into thinking that the engine was off. The effects are thus immediately felt. What I'm keen to see is how it performs on the highway and the fuel consumption. I've been stuck at 25.6 MPG for the longest time. Lets see if it gets better after this. I suspect it would even if it's just from my being more light-footed now that the low RPM performance is so much better. If you haven't changed your vanos seal before, highly recommended that you do it. Then only you realize what you've been missing all this while.
