Latest Updated activities :- Lunch at Branches Nasi Ganja or Marijuana Rice at Nasi Vanggey , Ipoh (Original From the Nasi Kandar stall at Yong Suan, on Jalan Yang Kalsom, Ipoh ). Behold the beauty! That’s 55 years of good Nasi Kandar! It is also known as Nasi Vanggey as the stall owners used to lure customers in by shouting out loud “vanggey! vanggey! vanggey!” It simply means 'Come On, Come On', inviting guest to try out their infamous curry dishes. Juicy chicken drumstick, marinated in heady Indian spices, then deep fried till it’s all brown and crispy on the outside. This is the famed nasi ganja (literally translated marijuana rice), as christened by inflamed fans who find its sambal (yes, that bewitching orange mound of ground mint, coconut and chilli) absolutely addictive. It’s a spinoff from the stall which operates out of Yong Suan, that legendary corner shop in Jalan Yang Kalsom. Wanna feel what it’s like to be an old-timer when the dishes and curries were sold from two baskets balanced on a pole slung across the shoulders? Try the asli (original) combination: the requisite chicken, slices of raw cucumber, curry ladies’ finger, and rice drowned in chicken and fish curry.
