Hi.. I am new here.. just want to share my experience on this topic.. I got my 320i just before CNY, so it is manufactured in 2014 as stated in the registration card .. I noticed this notorious knocking sound from day 1 because there are so many speed bumps near my housing area. Initially I did not bother (may be too excited with my my new car) because I thought it came from the smart tag that I put in the compartment below the light swithces. One day I decided to take the smrt tag away from the compartment because I started to get irritated by the knocking sound wheneverI go over the speed bump. Unfortunately the sound still there. Then I started to search info about this knocking issue and found out that the issue is common. I decided to get my car checked at AB Jln TRazak... Went for ride with the SA and go over a few speed bumps. Fortunately he heard the knocking sound. He asked me weather this is my first BMW... yes I said.. just sold my C200K Avant .. But to my surprise what he said was " you cannot compare BM and Merc, if you want comfort you choose Merc.. BMW may not as comfortable and making more noise than Merc but it is for performance... the knocking sound is normal nothing to worry about "... I told him that even mywife's 5-year old 90k km Honda City did not give such noise.. He said nothing could be done about it.. I reluctantly accept it... but now I could not stand it anymore ... will go to the SC again and will quote the info from this forum... Hope I will get the "real" BMW ....
