A tester was assigned to test drive and check on the problem but came back to me with a feedback that the wheel bearings require some lubrication and they have done it. I insisted that it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing and refuse to collect my car until the problem was identified and rectified. A chief tester was then assigned to the case and together with myself, we went for a test drive and I simulated the "clicking" problem to him. It was then that they acknowledge the problem could be due to the steering rack or the motor that comes together with the steering rack. According to them, they have seen this problem before but quite rare. They are now writing to BMW for the approval to replace the entire steering rack under warranty. Hopefully the problem is resolved after this.</p></blockquote><p></p>
