Torque wise, clear cut 520d is the winner. Fuel economy wise it depends on whether you are a heavy traveller or not. If i drove the 520d, i think i would be refuelling twice a month to compare with my current four times per month for my 523i. The savings would be around RM260 per month on Ron 95 fuel. A year savings would be around RM3,120. If i were a heavy traveller then it would make more sense as i would make more savings. But i dont travel with my 523i all the time. I will drive my lenjan car to certain few places. A place that i want more freedom to park anywhere i like. I would also have more peace of mind too.. It would be great to have a higher torque but so far I dont drive fast though. I am a relax cruiser. Thats why i prefer the smooth inline 6 more. The more i drive, the more i fell in love with it. Its smooth.
