Hi guys, I've been looking for a Dynavin player for quite some time and the only thing stopping me from buying it is the pricing. Even for other brands/models the cost would easily be RM2k and above. While browsing the forum, suddenly I stumbled into this thread and started to read more about this Eonon D5150 player. My first impression about this player is "Wow, it's cheap. Suite my budget". Because money is not easily earned, I need to make sure that the player cater for my need. So I begin reading extensively all the links that Wingzee provided, from the E46fanatics to ZHPMafia and even the Eonon website. In the end, I took the plunge by buying it through eBay. It cost me RM1,200 including shipping plus additional RM250 for custom tax. I also purchased a CCD reverse camera worth RM60 so that I can install it together in one go. The installation is not difficult and there are a lot of guides and videos available for me to refer to. My first step into DIYs Testing it before assembling it back Perfect fit and greatly enhance my E46 dashboard Good thing about this player is that I can select the path for it to run the navigation software Comes with Kudos Navigator I downloaded the trial version for Malaysia map Testing using iGo Working fine and now I have 2 navigation softwares that I can choose. By the way, better to store the softwares in a class 10 memory card for better performance (read it from another forum). One more thing, I put the GPS receiver near the rearview mirror/room light for better signal (read it from another forum too) Don't know why the iGo software include this info? I route the reverse camera cable through the back seat. So far, I am really satisfied with the unit. Spend a total of RM1,510 (if only I can avoid paying the RM250 tax, haha) plus the satisfaction of doing it myself (with a helping hand from my colleague) is priceless. The good: 1) Nice GUI 2) Can install and use various type of navigation software (still trying to make Garmin working on the unit) 3) Can use control buttons on the steering wheel. Same function as the original head unit, meaning that it will go to the next saved radio station (not searching) even when using GPS. We can even customized the buttons on the steering according to our preference. 4) Can add TPMS (I am going to add this in the near future since wifey is driving the car) so that the reading will be shown on the screen 5) Can browse phone directory/call log from the D5150 using bluetooth. 6) Sound quality do improved when listening to CDs The bad: 1) Can't use my CD changer at the back (it's ok since the player support mp3) 2) Radio reception is not as good compared to the original head unit meaning sometimes got some slight noise (but not that bad, I can still live with it) 3) I got taxed by the custom even thought already declared it as gift Disclaimer: I haven't tried or use any other models/brands so I am not in a position to compare/comment but with this price, I am a happy customer (so does the other guys inside the forums mentioned above. Do read them, it is very useful) Last but not least, a big thank you to wingzee for the racun.
