engine sound!

recently my engine sound tak...tak...tak...when i start my car after i drive some time the sound gone,it come back again after sometime driving and it will repeat the situation while driving.a mechanic told me is the oil pump problem,can any tell me is it true?anyway i am driving e30 m40 engine.

most probably your lifter. try add some engine oil treatment.
