Hi Guys,Not sure where it'd be suitable, so I'll just post it here:confused: .It's my E39, 2 mths now since taking it home recently. Everything's cool but I've taken a peek at the engine bay and sure enough it is rather dusty :( (and oily in certain sections, which my mechanic-friend says is normal). My question is "Do you guys "WASH" your engine bays to keep it clean.... p'haps with some kinda degreaser?"Thanks to all you sifus' answers in advance... :)

Many mechanic advised not to wash the engine with high pressured water which normally how the shop will do.

As for me with my AUDI A4, I will have professional using diesel to wash. Only if in desperate situation.

Thanks. I tend to agree with you and that's the way it'll be for now... cheers

I thought diesel will degrade the rubber parts of your engine eg. hoses?
