I just change my rear disk and break pad. Then I notice the meter EML light on. Wat does it mean? Do I need to replace the sensor or need to reset after I change new set.

most prob wheel sensor. as far as i have experienced after changing pads u need to change the sensor or else light stays. i might be wrong

Usually, you need to change the brake pad wear sensor when you change the pad, but that sensor does not affect the EML light.

Maybe during the process of changing your pads, the mechanic may have loosened or dirtied the speed sensor, which may trigger the EML or DSC warning lights. You can try and jack up the car and check the wiring or you can have the mechanic who did the change to take a look at the sensor and see if he messed up anything in there.

Do you feel any loss of power from the engine?

EML using comes out due to Drive By Wire throttle control system. ABS and Speed sensor will not triggers the EML light.

I though the speed sensor located at the front wheel. I will ask them to recheck again tomolo. I not sure about the speed loss coz I just drive short distant back to my home.

Speed sensor is actually for ABS. The function of speed sensor is to scan the speed of the wheel. If the car loosing control. The ABS module will activates ABS to change the speed of the wheel and this is call traction control. If speed sensor is warned then ABS light will on. Speed sensor and ABS module will trigger the ABS light on if one of them having problem and nothing do with EML light.

I got it check by machanic, he just plug in n do some setting (I think) then the light gone.

ABS do not change the speed of the wheel. ABS is to prevent the wheel from locking during emergency breaking.

Please google ASC (older) and DSC(newer) and DTC (newest) for more information on traction control.

When ever ABS activated by module for traction control then the speed of the wheel will change (slow down abit) and causing speed different with another and make the car stable back. And of cause If both wheels lose traction, the engine management system also intervenes and reduces the power output,

Sorry bro, I dont understand what you are talking about. I am more confused now. btw, define traction!

My EML also lightup this morning after I DIY installing LED angle eye.
Plug in the bmw scanner, error code was "VVT-Power Supply". Car no power at all, only able to drive up to 50km/h.
OMG, I burnt out my 100amp valvetronic main fuse located near the batery :burnout:
Got the fuse replace, everything back to normal.

Everybody own BMW shoud also buy the scanner, really useful tool =)
EML error mostly related to our DME problem (drive by wire, valvetronic, etc)
