Hey folks... wonder if anyone is facing or has faced this... am driving a e46 318i and getting 2 types of sound on the driver-side electric seat:1) Creak: The hard-plastic wrap for the electric seat motor and controls (around the side of the seat) creaks a little when fidgeting or going thru corners (shifting of weight on seat) - examined and there're no cracks. Anyone managed to fix this sound by applying some stuff? Coz the front-passenger seat do not have this problem.2) Squeak: Minor squeak sound can be heard at certain settings, and at certain times, e.g. adjusting the seat a little towards the steering wheel direction (for a shorter driver seating position). Is the sound coming from the seat's railing or something else? Can use WD40?Appreciate any advice...Cheers folks!

Most E46s especially the pre-facelifted model suffer from creaks caused by the plastic cladding (where the seat adjustment controls are located) being in contact with the leather.

There's not much that one can do to cure the problem.

Instead of WD40, try leather cleaners and lubricants first?

Can.

Turn up the radio or CD player, whichever is working.
