Then post 1996 models life isn't that easy as they came with a EEPROM 28F200 which is a 44pin surface mount PSOP which requires some soldering skill to remove and install and also a special programming adapter / tool to read and write to these.</p><p></p><p>FYI most ECU's are unique unless they're off the same batch, each ECU is marked with a hardware and a software number, if you try installing a chip off one ECU into another with different HW or SW numbers in a worst case the car may not even start. </p><p></p><p>That is why its always important to work of your car's original map if your planning to use the same ECU.</p><p></p><p>Let me know how many of you would like to do this themselves, as I will continue time permitting.
