I did the Vanos leak test on the intake and exhaust, and the bad news is that the exhaust did not pass. The deviation of the exhaust cam is -7 degree which is outside the acceptable range of -5 to +5, the times it took to reach the target positions for both intake and exhaust are ok but sluggish (up to 600+ms which I think it is slow, though within the 1000ms specified by BMW). I think the cause is most like seals , perhaps the solenoids are also sticky. After keeping my Vanos seals for months , I have decided to replace the seals asap after all there is a slight leak at the VCG. At the same time will clean up the solenoids.</blockquote>
