I replaced my windscreen with a local made (MSG) and sofar it is alright. If you have insured your windscreen and depending on the amount insured, then claim the maximum.

Guys, on this note, how would one know if the workshop has used the Ori BMW with UV or some local windscreen?

There's etching of origin at one of the corner of the screen... cannot lari wan..

wahhh... Allianz Insurance has overprice the windscreen coverage... they request me to insured RM4k for my windscreen but from but choq info ..the price is only RM2.5k ORI BMW... typical insurance company... anyway for me.. if you have insured the windscreen better claim for maximum.. ORI BMW will be the best choice.. got experience with non ori windscreen but on different car... my old proton.. after few years the screen blur.. maybe the quality issue.

guys

thanks for the input, AB ur good idea damn good ma go for opt 3, claim opt 1!, btw i opted for ORI BMW since ma insurance coverage = RM2K, hhaaayaaa no choice got to top up maa.

Herbert - Hv to opt for ORI BMW, since they are talking about sensor....what sensor BMW put on windscreen huh? rain sensor ka?

next reinstate will go for insurance coverage RM3K, hehehehehe then can hv free VKool.

Ahmz,

Got mine replace too at Dr Cermin, the rain sensor and light is plug and play thingy. They will order the windscreen based on your VIN no and it should retrofit all those items.

Choq,
Mine is insured at 4K. I got the original screen since the screen need to have an opening and bracket to fit the rain sensor , like AB said cannot lari wan.. But got my Vkool elite replace FOC as well by Tint Shop next door.

If your original w/s came with rain sensor, then better have similar replacement. As for me, I replace my windscreen every 18 months as lots of small stone chips could be seen. Anyway, windscreen claim won't affect your NCB.

Found out there are 2 Dr Cermin around....

1. 1st Dr Cermin Ent
2. Dr Cermin Sdn Bhd.

lucky both quoted about the same price for the ORI BMW windsreen...

I just had my 2nd windscreen change for my 2009 e90 lci. So basically I'm changing my windscreen once a year. As I bought it an Ingress, they want me to make sure my insurance can cover up as much as RM4500.00. With this, they can change your windscreen with giving you FOC 3M tint.

Do you guys think this is worth it?
