Hello, anyone can advise What is the part & labour cost for replacing expansion tank ? My car is 2009, is it time to change the expansion tank ? This is quite dangerous if were to wait till big crack and leaking.

I have never seen e90 expansion tank crack. Only the e46 has such problem. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for your reply. You are right, recheck again at M1 and was told no problem. Sometimes buying a car also depends on luck, even I bought new at Quil but because is 8 years car anything can happen especially oil leak and last week window lifter not functioning.

Haha.. lifter.. replaced both rear with Taiwanese aftermarket. Less than RM200 a piece.

I have also replace both front door lock.. about RM400 each.

Earlier I changed Taiwanese brand but very fast spoil and this time I have changed to ori plus labour & gst is about RM 650...does your rear window in Taiwanese brand last still ? May I know you paid RM400 each for both front door lock is Taiwanese brand as well ? Is the part call Lock Actuator ? I heard ori is 700++

I broke one lifter at the rear before. Touch wood, others ok.

Indeed, my last e46 expansion tank has been changed before as it is prone to crack.

For E90, the cooling systems is the water pump (not too long after getting the car (2nd hand mind you)) and all the rubber pipes that tends to leak (over the course of a few years). Touch wood, no problems so far.

Taiwanese lifter not greased. Must apply grease generously to prevent damaged. Mine still okay. Rear window seldom use la.

Yes, the door lock mechanism some refer to them as actuator. RM400 is German made. Not ori.
