WTH this flamefest is still kicking and screaming  To be honest I can't comprehend how this A4 vs E90 debate can go on so long :) In my own personal observations of my immediate market, the A4 is now almost 2nd tier to the favorites i.e. 3er, C-class, Acura TL/TSX, Infiniti G35 and Lexus IS. Next step down would be the Saab 9-3, A4, Passat VR6 and so on. The absolute dog in this sector is the Jaguar X-type 3.0 AWD. Now I'm not a roundel snob, I went through a comprehensive shopping process and the A4 never made my cut simply because it had reliability and resale concerns which was never gonna cut it for me. My finalists were the Acura TL, C230, Lexus IS250 and the 325i. By process of elimination I ended up with the E90. Well actually a Lexus event where I had the opportunity to push the IS hard against the E90 sold me on my car :D If for some reason the E90 didn't work out, my fall back choice was the IS for value, RWD and toyota reliability. A close 3rd was the Acura TL but its FWD Accord underpinnings was a drawback - I did love the gadgets and standard equipment. The MB was a dud, I thought but it looked good with the standard AMG bodykit and the discounts were big.
