Exactly what the title says.On the way home last night after the heavy 6pm downpour on the Federal Highway, heard liquid sloshing around from the rear seats and I thought it was a bottle of water I left there. When I got home, there was no bottle, but the entire right passenger footwell was damp, and the left side was dry. I pulled out the mat, which was dripping wet... as in fully loaded with water. The carpet underneath was soaked, and water was running up to the driver's footwell too.I pulled of the rear bench, and everything underneath was dry. I then inspected the sides of the rear right footwell. The bench side was damp but not wet, but the side under the b-pillar was soaked. Looking thru the old TIS I have, it seems that the E39s had a problem with the door seals and glue failure which led to flooded footwells. I then checked all the doorseals on both sides. The body seals on the right side came loose with little effort, but the left side seals refused to move. I'm guessing that's the issue, but I'll be sending it in for them to take the driver's seat out and dry out the car and properly diagnose it.Anyone had issues like this before? There'll probably be more heavy rain in the near future, so this is something to consider.
