BTW other then no power, what other symptoms are you getting?  A lot of things can cause loss of power, vacuum leak, faulty mass air flow sensor (in my case, the turbo just refuse to kick in,no matter how hard i press the accelerator).  Common symptoms of faulty turbo (other then no power) include:-1)Loss of engine oil, due to the turbo leaking (caused by the seals)2)Whining sound coming from the turbo (could be caused by the shaft or bearing)3)excessive white smoke (a bit is normal)If I were in you position, i would ask the mechanic how did he come the conclusion that the turbo is faulty.</blockquote>
