Answers:1) you've got that right, and you can only do it at one place that i think you know...2) there is a solution...you have 2-a)change to a new improved rubber seals and the teflon tape on the body... but, the cracking noise will come back later in a couple of months due to our weather...so i don't recommend this option because its quite costly...(unless your rubber seal edges have warped)b) use wd40 and carefully spray it on the whole edge of the rubber part where the furry fabric is all away through...believe me, you won't have the annoying creak sound anymore...3) this i can't help you la...this is due to luck factor...mine is still fine and i've been driving the car since early of the year...so far, no problems for me...
