Dear forummers,A thought to share. Brought my car (e46 325) to BM world to get my steering column replaced for the klok klok sound (over small potholes @ low speeds) for ~900. Good job done within 2 hours.:) Got a comment on the handling of the steering that it is 'too light'. Lighter than the usual e46s that the mechanic has driven. He proposed a steering rack overhaul costing ~700 ie taking it apart and 'cleaning' or replacing parts as necessary. The handling as mentioned is not as sharp or sedap.Has anyone done an overhaul on the steering rack before? Would like to seek your comments or experience on this matter.Cheers!
