RDS is actually a func tht let say u r listening 2 92.9 n u r travelling to klantan for example. there are a few freq for hitz.fm along d way 2 klantan. so when u turn on d RDS, it will automatically search hitz.fm's freq 4 u.tht means in klang valley it is 92.9, then mayb in kuantan it is 94.8(example, i forgot d freq at kuantan 4 hitz), d radio will search it 4 u w/o pressing any button. it might take a while (2-3 mins) then u will get hitz back on d line. it is a good feat but it will b problematic if it fails. if d RDS fails, i think u must change d whole unit (rad 1,2, business or CCC) coz separate parts r not available (except outside wshop which i do not recommend). to know whether u turn on d RDS or not, just look at d radio interface/idrive. for radio with interface, u will c RDS on d right side of d LCD screen. when d RDS is turn on, there is a star beside it n d main LCD will not show d freq of radio u r listening. it will show d name/tag of d station. i forget how do disable RDS (since i do not own a BMW), but its easy. just play around with d buttons n u will get it. try n error lah. hehehe <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite11" alt=":rolleyes:" title="Roll Eyes    :rolleyes:" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":rolleyes:" /> hope this help u with d prob . gud luck :top:</blockquote>
