Do introduce yourself in the BMW newbies section for the rest of us to know you better. :) Certain parts (highlighted above) are overpriced. But that's normal since mechanic normally jack up their prices to increase profit margin, since labor charges can only be that much. The truth is, many BMW parts are actually on par or cost only slightly more than Japanese counterparts. Many mechanics would assume BMW owners are comfortable of paying that much since BMW is always branded as premium car makers. I believe many BMW owners here have learnt the hard way of paying so much extra during the initial ownership as many do not survey the market prices. However, most of us have since learnt and be a smart BMW owners. Just piece of advice, do survey part prices before committing to repairs by mechanics. Do check with BMW parts stockist. Below are some names (Contact numbers can be obtained via Google): - Bavarian Auto (largest parts stockist with branches at Segambut, SS2 PJ, Subang, Cheras Maluri etc.) - Munich Auto, Segambut - Inner Power, Jalan Ipoh - Bomin Auto, Jalan Ipoh - Suan Huat, Taman Paramount PJ
